Captain Polina “Rozhok” is a doctor of the medical service of the 3rd Mechanized Battalion. She grew up in the military town of Desna in the family of a tank officer. Polina graduated from Bogomolets National Medical University and completed military training. When the full-scale invasion began, she was studying at a military academy.
Polina’s main mission is to train soldiers in tactical medicine and turn basic first-aid skills into an automatic response. Under extreme stress, the brain can shut down, which makes muscle memory crucial on the battlefield. Together with her team, she regularly drills the MARCH protocol: assessment, tourniquets, wound packing, bandaging, as well as scenarios for locating and evacuating a wounded soldier to cover.
Every training session gives soldiers a chance to gain precious seconds that can save the lives of their fellow servicemen in real combat.
